Stephen N. Lipton has more than 40 years of practice as a trial attorney and consultant in complex litigation and trials in state and federal courts in cases involving construction and land development projects, building products liability, eminent domain, business transactions and trade practices, and major crimes, as well as construction contracting in major public works projects. Throughout his career, he managed litigation departments for law firms, took over as lead trial counsel in difficult cases on short notice, and headed up teams of lawyers, law firms and consultants to develop and handle complex trials. Mr. Lipton has also served as a jury consultant and expert witness. He earned his LL.B. from University of Pennsylvania Law School and his B.A. from University of Pittsburgh. He has taught as an instructor in evidence at University of Miami School of Law and lectured to the Bar at CLE seminars. Mr. Lipton is a Florida Certified Circuit Civil Mediator and Qualified Arbitrator.
H. Hugh (“Terry”) McConnell has practiced civil litigation in the state and federal courts of Florida for more than 30 years, concentrating in civil appeals and commercial litigation support. He received degrees from Yale University (B.A.), University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (M.R.P.), and Northeastern University (J.D.). He has served as an adjunct professor in law and ethics at the University of Miami, Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering, and is a regular guest lecturer in construction law at the University of Miami School of Law. He has also lectured on construction law at Florida International University, Florida Atlantic University, and the Dade County Bar Association Construction Law Committee. Mr. McConnell is a Florida Certified Circuit Civil Mediator, is a member of the Roster of Neutrals of the American Arbitration Association, is on the panel of arbitrators of the National Futures Association, and has conducted numerous securities, commodities and construction arbitrations.
