Kimberly L. Barbar brings to the firm 20 years’ experience in legal practice as a business lawyer and in the business world, with broad experience in commercial real estate and aircraft transactions. Throughout her career, Ms. Barbar’s practice has focused on commercial real estate, including acquisitions, financing, development and construction; sales and leasing of commercial sites, shopping centers and out parcel development; properties acquired from governmental entities for private development; and conversions of residential apartments into commercial condominium projects. Ms. Barbar has represented such clients as Cleveland Clinic Florida, Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate, Inc., Columbia HCA, Eckerd Corporation, Hyatt Corporation, Lend Lease Corporation, Scott Paper Company, Sunbeam Corporation, Sun Trust Bank, TIAA/CREF, Toll Brothers, Inc., Office Depot and Walgreens.

Ms. Barbar also is experienced in commercial aircraft transactions including domestic and cross-border aircraft and aircraft engine operating leases, lease restructuring and aircraft finance leasing and purchasing. She developed her aircraft transaction experience through her relationship with General Electric Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) working full-time and “hands on” in GECAS’s commercial aircraft financing business. Her experience has since expanded to private aircraft transactions as well as the sale, aquisition and operation of fixed base operations (FBOs).

Ms. Barbar received her Juris Doctor from University of Miami School of Law and her Bachelor’s Degree in psychology and political science from Auburn University. She is a member of the Florida Bar (Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section). Ms. Barbar has lectured on contracts and ethics to the Realtor Association of South Palm Beach and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Association of Realtors. She is a member of Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity, a board member of Women’s Health Forum of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, an Ambassador of The Pantry of Broward County, and President of Junior Welfare Society.
